God’s GREAT GRACE!

I simply can’t shout about God’s GREAT GRACE loud enough! His love remains endless! Though I sinned yesterday, will sin today, and I know I can not avoid sinning tomorrow—we are assured there is always God’s GREAT GRACE to flow over us.

But how do I know this? How can I be certain of favor from the LORD when I know what I’ve done? My sin is born in thought, word and deed—and it never stops reproducing! I have jealous and impure thoughts, I argue, condemn and gossip, and I can’t begin to list all the sin I physically committed as a teen and young adult.

Yes, I’ve done a few nice things in my life. But God’s forgiveness, mercy and grace are not based on merit. Christianity does not base itself on works, as some others have written their religions to be.

Praise God for His truth! I could never do enough to cover all my sin so thank-you, God, for your GREAT GRACE!

God’s constant flow of grace upon us saves us.

People sometimes confuse Grace and Mercy. Grace is God giving you something you don’t deserve. Mercy is God not giving you something you do deserve.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

God freely gives us the gift of grace. Humanity deserves punishment for sin against God, just as society punishes for the sin of man against man. Humanity cannot save ourselves from sin, we are creatures made by God—we are not god. So to think we can somehow save ourselves is a falsehood. God had His plan of grace for us in position— “In the beginning”.

John 1:14-17 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ ”) Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Grace without truth would be chaos. If one simply accepts God will always offer His grace when we do wrong, then we have no reason to live righteously. However as Christians, we are to do our best to live truth as Jesus exemplified in the Bible—then—when we fail to follow God’s law, we can ask forgiveness to receive mercy and/or grace.

God’s GREAT GRACE is powerful and constant.

God did just that, over and over again for His people of Israel. It was after king Nebuchadnezzar had taken most of the nation into exile, God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah, telling him one day soon, Israel will be a great nation. This was God’s grace at work.

Jeremiah 31:2-3 This is what the LORD says: “The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.” The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful.

Through careful study and reading of God’s word we find many, many other stories of god’s GREAT GRACE in every book of the Bible. Check out The Gospel Coalition for more information.

Right now I encourage you to pray with reverence to our Lord and Savior and ask Him for favored grace upon your life for all of your needs. You Are Loved By A Big God, and the better you know Him, the more your are blessed!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
